Terrariums
Bring some greenery indoors with a terrarium. They are one of the most popular botanical trends in recent times, and it’s no wonder.
They’re a sustainable, low-maintenance indoor garden, which looks great on your office desk, in a kids room with a dinosaur or a favourite toy car or fairy tucked inside or on the coffee table. In fact, any well-lit spot in your home.
The Wardian case was an early type of sealed protective container for plants, which found great use in the 19th century in protecting foreign plants imported to Europe from overseas, the vast majority of which had previously died from exposure during long sea journeys, frustrating the many scientific and amateur botanists of the time. The Wardian case was the direct forerunner of the modern-day terrarium.
Terrarium soil is highly specialised for terrariums as it contains correct pH levels, balanced nutrients, and components for draining and water retention through capillary action. This maintains a high-quality ecosystem that will establish over time, thrive and age.
