Cyclamen

Cyclamen are popular indoor plants are capable of flowering for many months.  Gardeners love them as they will often be flowering in the dead of winter when nothing else mulch is, but continue throughout spring.

The trick with them is to make sure they corm (like a bulb)does not rot by only watering the soil, not the foliage, and never sitting them in a saucer.  They also love the cold night air.  In days gone by, you would “put them out with the milk bottles at night”! Nowadays, try buying two and having one outside on a patio and one inside, and swapping them around every week to spell them.  Deadhead old flowers with your fingers by pinching off the old flowering stem at the base.
