Plant these winter vegies now

i) You can’t go past fast growing lettuces, radicchio, sorrel and rocket for a deliciously fresh winter salad. Pick outer leaves first to extend your harvest.

ii) Broad beans are a terrific winter crop. You can eat the new shoots in salads, and the beans are marvellous in salads and stews. Once the plant has finished fruiting, dig the whole thing back into the ground and it will add nitrogen and organic matter to your soil.

iii) Root vegies like radishes, carrots and beetroots can be planted. All have edible foliage too, so don’t be afraid to eat your greens too.
