Join us for a weekend of inspiration, open air films, Q&A’s, small workshops, exclusive talks, demos, eco outdoor marketplace, food & drink!

We are turning inspiration into action with a Sustainability Weekend outside in our award-winning gardens as part of its sustainable month programme. If you’ve been motivated to change your LIFE habits, but need the confidence to know what to do, now is your chance to connect with eco warriors and learn from sustainability experts. This event has something for everyone, from kids to corporates, hippies to iGens, Boomers to Gen Z’s, our aim is to make environmental responsibility mainstream. So, join the regeneration. Event curatorand horticultural journalist Meredith Kirton noted “I hope Eden Gardens can provide a platform for everyone to understand sustainability issues better... and be better gardeners and global citizens.”Eden Gardens was the perfect choice for this event; centrally located and only 10 minutes’ walk from Macquarie Park Station, there are multiple conference rooms, outdoor pavilions and garden meeting areas that only enhance this environmentally focused event.

So What’s On? Our Green Film Festival will show a variety of inspiring movies under the stars including the incredible 2040, theBiggest Little Farm and kids’ classics FernGullyand Wall-E.  Also on the bill:

  • Workshops on offer include: Learn how to make your own fermented drinks and kraut, whip up some natural cleaning products, discover healing herbs and how to make tisanes and tinctures or make mud pies, a mini work farm or an insect hotel with the kids

  • We have created a comprehensive program of activities that will cover topics such as creating a backyard oasis for wildlife, how to design a resilient garden for our changing climate, and how to grow your own produce in small spaces and so much more.

  • We have artisans and bespoke producers coming with everything from woven goods suitable for vegans to local honey - you can even watch a spinning demonstration using natural fibres from hemp, bamboo and banana leaves.

The Green Film Festival and Sustainability Market integrates community groups* with those hungry for knowledge.  Special events such as after opening hour’s films, tours, workshops and lunches can be booked on Eventbrite.  We will also be collecting donations to Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets, an organisation that gives youth in crisis a chance to recover, by providing them with the opportunity to gain skills and confidence to make a change in their own lives.

* Eden Gardens is a unique business based on a genuine commitment to both social and environmental causes and a mission to improve the quality of life in the wider community, through horticulture and education.  We are thrilled to be joined by many local community groups and are thankful for the support of local councils and NFP organisations.
