Gorgeous Gardens Digital Photography Competition 

Eden Gardens is proud to announce the winner of the Photography Competition held in April and May this year. Thank you to everyone that entered. We had an amazing amount of entries to the competition, great to see people so eager to show off their beautiful gardening work and unique plants.

The winners receive a $200 Gift Certificate and
a professional family portrait at Eden.

Michael Fletcher from Newport Beach  

Michael is 60 years “young” and his profession is architecture. His fervour for gardening is a product of his younger years. Both his father’s vegetable plots and his mother’s “old” style gardens engendered a long and continuing relationship with garden design and construction. Some of his other hobbies include golf, painting, cooking and of course photography.

Michael and his wife purchased their property in Bilgola Plateau about 2,5 years ago and have since refurbished and redecorated the existing cottage. They were fortunate that the several previous owners were good gardeners - most of the mature trees and shrubs have been maintained and from season to season they propagate or purchase a special new plant.

The winning photo -“Lady Bird Beetle” snapped in one of Michael's Oyster plants (Acanthus mollis) was taken after a day of gardening.

Tamie Sweeney from Fitzgibbon

Tamie is a mum of a beautiful little girl. She's a nurse, loves to play and watch sport and really enjoys creating new things - craft, household things, and gardening - since she bought her first house in 2004. Tamie says it is very relaxing being outside and her daughter loves it too.
 
Tamie has recently moved from a town house to a house. So after having a great tropical courtyard garden, she has to start again with the garden as it needs alot of work. She used to collect cuttings prior to the move - specially of the Darwin Blood Frangipani which the winning photo was taken of. It was a slow growing, late flowering but now every January she can enjoy its beautiful blooms.

As part of the Membership benefits we will post out to you a coffee card to enjoy at the Dragonfly Café as an introductory benefit.  Please bring your Membership key tag and introductory coffee card with you when you next visit Eden Gardens in order to enjoy your free coffee.  An alternative drink choice is available to a value not exceeding the menu price of a regular coffee.  One coffee card redemption is valid per month per Member.  A valid Membership card must be presented to redeem the offer.  Coffee cards may not be exchanged for any cash value.  Cards cannot be used as part or full payment for any other item.  Lost cards cannot be replaced.  Cards expire after 12 months and any unused portion is not redeemable,  if you are a Member make sure you pop in to say hello each month and grab your free coffee.
